Being a huge fan of the Marvel universe, I was definitely excited for Deadpool and it did not disappoint. I was ready for a film filled with comedy, action and fun and it definitely did that- that and so much more. I was not expecting Deadpool to be as heartfelt as it was, this film evoked so much emotion from me whilst perfectly blending with such great humor. If you have yet to see it and are looking for a film which is pure entertainment, then this is your movie.
Deadpool tells the story of anti-hero Wade Wilson and gives us a Marvel character who is unconventional in the most brilliant way. His character has such a dark humor and even the hard times in this film are eased by this use of comedy- Deadpool (the film, not the character) does not take itself too seriously and I love that about it. In my opinion, it is best to go into this film not knowing the plot line and to be surprised by everything that happens without knowing before hand. This was the case for me and I therefore went on a complete roller coaster journey whilst watching it.
Ryan Reynolds perfectly portrayed his character and the way he delivered all of the lines made this film a blast to watch. It definitely feels like he is passionate about this character so he stepped into the role perfectly and he was by far one of my favourite aspects of this film. It just felt like Ryan Reynolds was Deadpool and there was no doubt in my mind that this was not the case. I also enjoyed all of the side characters and really felt a threat from the villain. Way too many times I will be watching an action film and the villain just does not seem realistic or threatening and it can get frustrating. But Ajax was actually quite scary and I felt real hatred towards his character. The plot went to so many different places and there seemed to be a surprise around every corner. I absolutely loved the story line of the movie and how realistic it all felt, the way that the fourth wall was broken all the way through was so original and fun to watch.
Even though the humor is so dark and sarcastic, I can definitely see many different people enjoying and appreciating it. If you have yet to watch Deadpool, I highly recommend that you check it out because I think it is worth the watch, just be cautious that it is definitely not a family film... I hope you liked this movie review, I really enjoyed Deadpool and now really want a sequel! The way that things are going it would appear that we have not seen the last of this character for sure. Thank you for reading and I will see you soon with another post,
